Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...The pressure gradient between a ridge building over
the eastern Gulf and low pressure over eastern Mexico will
support fresh to strong southeast winds over the central Gulf
today. A cold front over the western Gulf will stall and weaken
late tonight and dissipate by early Sat. The remnant boundary
will then shift westward into Mexico and southern Texas Fri
through Sat. Another cold front is expected to move into the
western Gulf of Mexico on Sun, reach from the NE Gulf to the
southwestern Gulf Mon and become stationary. This front will
transition to a warm front across the central Gulf Tue, lifting
to the far northern Gulf by late on Tue.

.SYNOPSIS...A high pressure ridge will build westward across the
northern waters, roughly along 29N through Fri and change little 
through the weekend. The ridge will begin to shift eastward late 
Sun night through Tue night in response to a cold front that will 
move off the southeastern U.S. coast. The cold front will reach 
from near 31N72W to 29N75W, where it will become stationary to 
east-central Florida Mon. By late Tue, the stationary front will 
lift back N as a warm front, while the cold front shifts E of the 
area. Moderate to fresh winds will continue south of the ridge, 
with winds strengthening over the approach to, and into, the 
Windward passage tonight into early next week.
