Cold air following behind the front is supporting strong to near gale force winds over the north central Gulf, with frequent gusts to gale force. Winds over the north central and northeast Gulf will diminish by late afternoon as high pressure builds over the western Gulf behind the front. Associated seas will subside this evening.
