Strong northerly winds will build behind the front W of 90W through this evening, with gales expected briefly offshore of Tampico this morning and across the Veracruz waters late morning through afternoon. Winds and seas will gradually diminish through Fri as high pressure builds across the northern Gulf and the front sinks SE of the basin. Meanwhile, a deep layer trough from 25N58W to the NE Caribbean will drift westward across the SE waters and weaken by Thu morning. The next cold front will move off the northeast Florida coast tonight, then slide slowly SE and reach from near Bermuda through the central Bahamas to central Cuba Fri. Expect fresh to strong southwesterly winds ahead of the front N of 28N this evening through Thu.
