Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A cold front extending from the Straits of Florida to northwestern Cuba and to the northeastern Yucatan Peninsula will move farther away from the Gulf today. Strong autumn high pressure building across the area in its wake will continue to bring fresh to strong northeast winds across the Gulf through this morning. The pressure difference between the strong high pressure and lower pressure southeast of the Gulf will continue to maintain fresh to near gale force northeast winds over the southeastern Gulf, with the exception of gale force northeast winds over the Straits of Florida through Wed night.
