Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Zeta has moved inland in Louisiana this
evening and is near 31.5N 88.7W 979 mb at 11 PM EDT moving NE at
27 kt. Maximum sustained winds 70 kt gusts 90 kt. Zeta will
weaken to a tropical storm as it moves farther away from the area
into Tennessee and North Carolina Thu morning. A cold front will 
move southeast and clear the Gulf Fri. Fresh to strong northwest 
winds behind the front will spread across the Gulf through early 
Fri. High pressure will build in behind the front through the 
weekend, with winds diminishing and seas subsiding throughout.

.SYNOPSIS...A tight pressure gradient between lower pressure in 
the Caribbean and high pressure over the central Atlantic will 
lead to moderate to fresh winds south of 27N through Thu night.
A cold front will move off the southeastern U.S. coast Thu
night, with some strong southwest winds ahead of it, north of
about 29N. These winds will spread east as the front reaches a
line from  Bermuda to the Bahamas to Cuba this weekend and
stalls. Some  strong north winds are possible behind the front
north of about  29N this weekend. A stronger cold front will
sweep across the the area early next week.
