Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Major Hurricane Delta is in the Caribbean near 19.5N
85.1W 960 mb at 11 PM EDT, moving WNW at 14 kt. Maximum
sustained winds 115 kt gusts 145 kt. Delta will move across the
northeast tip of Yucatan and the Yucatan Channel to 20.9N 87.1W
by Wed morning. Delta will continue into the Gulf reaching 22.3N
89.8W Wed evening, 23.6N 91.7W Thu morning, 25.0N 92.7W Thu
evening, 26.8N 92.8W Fri morning, and 29.0N 92.2W near the
Louisiana coast Fri evening. Delta will weaken to a tropical
storm while moving inland over the Lower Mississippi Valley
through late Sat. Meanwhile, the remnant low of Gamma is over
the north coast of Yucatan, and will continue drifting west and
dissipate by Wed morning.

.SYNOPSIS...A stationary front extending from 31N68W to 30N77W.
This feature will persist in the area through mid week. A 
reinforcing cold front will move off the Carolinas and merge
with this front on Thu, then move east across the northern
portion of the basin through the end of the week.
