Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...An area of low pressure over the southwestern Gulf
will meander for the next day or so before moving slowly
northward to northeastward on Fri and Sat, with potential for it
to become a tropical depression or tropical storm within the
next day or so. A Gale Warning is in effect for some sections of
the central and western Gulf with this system. A weak front will
move into the northern Gulf on Fri and reach the eastern Gulf by
the weekend and become stationary. The gradient between the
front and the area of low pressure is expected to lead to fresh
to strong northeast to east winds and building seas over most of
the central and western Gulf into early next week.

.FRI...SW winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 3 ft. Isolated showers and 
thunderstorms. 
.FRI NIGHT...NW to N winds 5 to 10 kt, shifting to NE after
midnight. Seas 3 ft in the evening, subsiding to 2 ft or less.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms. 
.SAT...E winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less. Isolated showers 
and thunderstorms. 
.SAT NIGHT...N to NE winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming NE to E 15 to
20 kt late. Seas 3 to 4 ft, building to 4 to 6 ft.

.SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Teddy near 20.1N 54.1W 951 mb at 5 PM EDT 
moving NW at 10 kt. Maximum sustained winds have increased to
115 kt gusts 140 kt. Teddy will move to near 21.2N 55.2W late
tonight with maximum sustained winds 120 kt gusts 145 kt, to near
22.8N 56.6W Fri afternoon, to near 24.5N 58.1W late Fri night and
begin to weaken as it reaches near 26.3N 59.9W Sat afternoon with
maximum sustained winds 115 kt gusts 140 kt, to near 28.0N 62.1W 
late Sat night and to near 29.5N 63.3W Sun afternoon before 
lifting north of the area late Sun. Swell generated by Teddy will 
impact the Bahamas this weekend. A cold front will move off the 
southeastern U.S. coast Fri night, then become nearly stationary 
on Sun and into early next week. Strong northeast winds are 
expected north of the front, with building seas.

20 kt N of 27N. Seas 3 to 4 ft. Scattered showers and isolated
thunderstorms.
