Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Major Hurricane Laura near 29.0N 93.2W 939 mb at
11 PM EDT moving NNW at 13 kt. Maximum sustained winds 130 kt
gusts 160 kt. Laura will move inland to 31.0N 93.7W by Thu
morning, then move further inland and dissipate through Sat.
Long-period swell from Laura will impact much of the basin
through Thu. Atlantic high pressure will build westward over the
eastern Gulf in the wake of Laura.

.SYNOPSIS...A high pressure ridge across the waters north of the
area will gradually shift southward into the upcoming weekend. A
 cold front will move off the southeastern U.S. coast on Sun,
then  stall near or just north of 31N Sun night through Mon.
Moderate to locally fresh SW winds may precede the front this
weekend over  the waters N of 29N. A tropical wave may increase
winds and seas  over the waters E of 65W Sun through early next
week.
