Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A shear line over the Straits of Florida will
persist into tonight, then dissipate early Fri. A high pressure
ridge extending into the NE Gulf will maintain fresh to strong E
to SE winds E of 90W tonight. Wind speeds will gradually diminish
this weekend into early next week as the pressure gradient relaxes
over the area.

.TONIGHT...Straits of Florida, NE to E winds 20 to 30 kt with
frequent gale force gusts. Elsewhere, E winds 20 to 25 kt. Seas 7
to 11 ft Straits of Florida, and 5 to 7 ft elsewhere. Scattered 
showers and isolated tstms.
.FRI...NE to E winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. Scattered
showers and isolated tstms. 
.FRI NIGHT...NE winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Scattered
showers and isolated tstms.

Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida

.SYNOPSIS...A stationary front extends across the central waters
and transitions to a shear line across the central Bahamas into
the Straits of Florida. A trough will form off the southern
coast of Florida tonight and lift northward through Fri as low
pressure develops near the NW Bahamas. This system will likely
become a  tropical or subtropical storm by this weekend as it
moves NE over the western Atlantic. Frequent gale force gusts are
expected over the waters near and N of the Bahamas over the next 
couple days.

.TONIGHT...E winds 20 to 30 kt with frequent gale force gusts S 
of 27N, and E 20 to 25 kt N of 27N. Seas 6 to 8 ft in NE swell.
