Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...High pressure over the forecast waters will retreat eastward today, enabling a cold front to move into the northern Gulf tonight. The front will move to the central Gulf waters Sat and gradually stall through Sun. An area of low pressure is expected to develop along or near the western part of the front over the SW Gulf on Sat, and track east-northeastward toward South Florida on Sun. Fresh to strong east winds will develop north of the front over the southern half of the central Gulf late Sat into Sun. The stalled front will then transition back to a cold front and exit the southeastern Gulf early on Mon. In the wake of front, fresh northeast winds are expected over the eastern and central Gulf waters Sun night through Mon night, veering to the east on Tue. Another cold front is forecast to move off northern Florida Sat morning. The front will move across the waters north of 29N through Sun. Weak low pressure is expected to develop over the Gulf of Mexico, and track northeastward across south Florida into the Bahamas Sun through Mon. Numerous showers and thunderstorms will impact the waters over most of the western half of the area Sun into early next week. In the wake of the low, a cold front will move across the northern and central waters through Mon night, then reach from near 29N65W to 26N70W and stall to the central Cuba late Tue.
