Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A cold front is just N of Tampa, extending from 28N82W SW to 24N92W then transitions to a stationary front to the border between NE Mexico and Texas. Fresh to strong SW winds are ahead of it covering the SE gulf waters along with scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms. The cold front will move E of the basin this evening and winds will diminish to gentle and moderate speeds. The next cold front is forecast to approach the NW Gulf late Wed night into Thu morning. Fresh to strong winds are forecast to develop ahead of the front over the western half of the Gulf by Tue night. The front will continue to move eastward across the waters north of 22N through early Wed with fresh to strong southwest winds ahead of it. Another cold front will enter the NW offshore waters Thu evening. Strong to possibly near gale force southerly winds will precede the front and will affect the waters N of of the Bahamas from Thu morning through Fri morning.
