Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends across the Straits of Florida
to the NE Yucatan with a line of strong thunderstorms ahead of
the front across the Straits. The front will move southeast of
the Gulf by this afternoon. W gales and high seas occurring
behind the front overnight across the NE Gulf will diminish this
afternoon. By Fri night, conditions across the Gulf will quickly
improve with relatively tranquil winds and seas through Tue. The
next cold front may reach the NW Gulf late on Tue.  

.TODAY...NW winds 20 to 25 kt, shifting to NW to N 15 kt in the
afternoon. Seas 8 to 11 ft in W to NW swell. Scattered showers
and isolated tstms. 
.TONIGHT...N to NE winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 6 to 9 ft in W to NW
swell. 
.SAT...NE to E winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. 
.SAT NIGHT...NE to E winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. 
.SUN...E winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft.

.SYNOPSIS...The 1032 mb Bermuda-Azores High is centered near 
30N38W and extends a ridge axis to the NW Bahamas. A strong 
pressure gradient between the high and a large extratropical low
 over the eastern United States will produce S to SW gales in
the  N waters this morning. Westerly gales will prevail across
the NW waters behind the associated cold front, extending from
31N76W to extreme S Florida this morning and will move SE and
reach from  near Bermuda to central Cuba by Sat afternoon,
become stationary  in the same vicinity by Sun afternoon, and
dissipate on Mon.

.TODAY...S of 27N,S to SW winds 20 to 25 kt, becoming W 10 to
15 kt in the afternoon. N of 27N, SW to W winds 25 to 35 kt 
diminishing to 20 to 30 kt in the afternoon. Seas 6 to 9 ft in S 
swell. Scattered showers and isolated tstms. 
.TONIGHT...N to NE winds 10 to 15 kt S of 27N, and NW 15 to 20 kt
N of 27N. Seas 4 to 6 ft in S swell.
