Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from near Tampa to the Yucatan
peninsula with some strong thunderstorms ahead of the front in
the SE Gulf. The front will move southeast of the Gulf by this
afternoon. W gales are occurring behind the front in the N Gulf,
diminishing in the afternoon. By Fri night, conditions across
the Gulf will quickly improve with relatively tranquil winds and
seas through Tue.

.TODAY...NW winds 20 to 25 kt, shifting to NW to N 15 kt in the
afternoon. Seas 8 to 11 ft in W to NW swell. Scattered showers
and isolated tstms. 
.TONIGHT...N to NE winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 6 to 9 ft in W to NW
swell. 
.SAT...NE to E winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft.

.SYNOPSIS...The 1028 mb Bermuda-Azores High centered near 29N51W
has a ridge axis that extends just south of the Bahamas. A
strong pressure gradient from the high to an extratropical low
over the SE United States will be producing S to SW gales in the
N waters this morning. As a cold front emerges off of the
Florida coast, W gales will occur behind the front in the
afternoon. The cold front will reach from near Bermuda to central
Cuba by Sat afternoon, become stationary in the same vicinity by 
Sun afternoon, and dissipate on Mon.
