Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Fresh NE to E winds and seas to near 8 ft will still
continue through the Straits of Florida to offshore of the
Yucatan Peninsula through Tue morning. Conditions will gradually
improve as the pressure gradient between high pressure to the N
and lower pressure associated with a trough across the Straits
weakens. New high pressure will develop along the northern Gulf
tonight, then will slowly lift N by the end of the week.

.SYNOPSIS...Tropical Depression Karen near 15.9N 65.6W 1007 mb at
5 PM EDT moving NNW at 11 kt. Maximum sustained winds 30 kt gusts
40 kt. Karen weakened into a tropical depression this afternoon 
and is expected to remain as Karen moves to 17.2N 66.2W Tue 
morning, 18.9N 66.6W Tue afternoon, and 21.3N 66.3W Wed morning. 
Once Karen passes Puerto Rico, it is expected strengthen to a 
tropical storm near 23.3N 65.9W Wed afternoon and 26.5N 65.0W Thu 
afternoon. Karen will then change little in intensity as it moves 
through the Southwest Atlantic Fri into the weekend, gradually 
slowing in forward motion.
