Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A strong cold front extends from southern Louisiana
to near Tampico Mexico, with gale force NW winds to 40 kt west
of the front. Widespread heavy showers and thunderstorm activity
is expected in the NE Gulf ahead of the front today and tonight.
The front will reach from the Florida Big Bend to the Yucatan
Channel tonight, and move SE of the basin on Sat. Winds and seas
will diminish this weekend. 

.TODAY...S winds 20 to 30 kt. Seas 6 to 9 ft. Numerous showers and
scattered thunderstorms. 
.TONIGHT...SW winds 20 to 25 kt, shifting to W 15 to 20 kt late.
Seas 5 to 7 ft. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. 
.SAT...W to NW winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 6 to 8 ft. 
.SAT NIGHT...W to NW winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 6 to 8 ft.

.SYNOPSIS...A frontal boundary along 24N east of the Bahamas will
drift northward today and slowly dissipate. Strong to near gale 
force southerly return flow will develop north of the Bahamas 
today ahead of a strong cold front that will sweep east across the
northern waters during the weekend, reaching from Bermuda to 
northwest Cuba Sun night, from 31N71W to central Cuba on Mon, then
stall across the tropical waters north of Antilles on Tue. 

.TODAY...SE winds 15 to 20 kt S of 27N, and SE to S 20 to 25 kt N
of 27N. Seas 3 to 4 ft S of 27N, and 6 to 9 ft N of 27N. 
.TONIGHT...SE to S winds 15 to 20 kt S of 27N, and S 20 to 25 kt
N of 27N. Seas 3 ft S of 27N, and 5 to 7 ft N of 27N.
