Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Weak high pressure across the NE Gulf extends WNW to
central Texas and is producing moderate to fresh SE winds across
the west half of the basin. The pressure gradient will tighten
today and tonight as a tropical wave moves across the Yucatan
Peninsula and into the SW Gulf, and then slowly WNW across the
western Gulf Thu and Fri. A surface trough will develop along
the Yucatan Peninsula late each afternoon, and drift westward
across the southwest Gulf waters during the overnight hours,
accompanied by a strong east to southeast wind shift with the
trough dissipating along 96W during the late mornings.

.SYNOPSIS...A broad ridge continues from the central Atlantic 
remains westward to N Florida and will meander between 27N and 
29N through Thu, then shift south along 25N on Fri, along 24N on
 Sat and along 23N on Sun. This will allow a weak cold front to 
move east through the waters north of 26N over the weekend. 
Fresh to locally strong easterly winds are forecast along the 
northern coast of Hispaniola during the late afternoons and 
evenings through Thu, with moderate easterly flow forecast 
elsewhere south of the ridge.   

.THIS AFTERNOON...E to SE winds 10 to 15 kt S of 27N, and S 5 to
10 kt N of 27N. Seas 2 ft or less S of 27N, and 3 to 4 ft N of
27N. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.
