Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...Fresh to strong NW winds persist over the far eastern Gulf following a late season strong cold front that moved across the region yesterday. Winds and seas will diminish from west to east across the Gulf through this evening as high pressure shifts eastward across the northern Gulf through mid week. Expect strong southerly return flow over the northwest Gulf Tue night between the high pressure and lower pressure over the southern Plains. Strong to near gale force southerly winds ahead of it N of 28N are quickly shifting eastward while diminishing. The cold front will reach from near 31N72W to central Cuba this evening, and begin to weaken as it reaches from near 31N68W to eastern Cuba early Tue. Strong west winds behind the front will continue to slowly diminish. The cold front is expected to reach from near Bermuda to eastern Cuba Tue afternoon, then from 28N65W to 26N70W and stationary to SE Bahamas and eastern Cuba early Wed. The stationary portion will lift back to the N as a dissipating boundary to near 26N Thu and Thu night.
