Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...High pres over the eastern gulf will continue to slide eastward in response to the eastward progression of a cold front that extends from southeastern Louisiana to Brownsville Texas this morning. The cold front will reach from Tampa Florida to near 25N90W and to the southwest gulf this evening, the begin to weaken as it reaches the far southern waters on Thu. Strong high pres in the wake of the front will weaken as it moves eastward to the northeast gulf by Thu night. Another cold front is expected to move across the far northwest gulf early on Sat, reach from the western Florida panhandle to near 25N93W and to the southwest gulf Sat evening, then begin to weaken as it reaches from Tampa to near 24N90W and to the eastern Bay of Campeche on Sun. Strong northerly winds will follow in behind the front over the far northwest gulf on Sat before diminishing to fresh Sat night. Moderate to fresh southerly flow will develop over the central gulf on Mon as yet another cold front moves over the northwest gulf. A thermal trough will develop over the Yucatan Peninsula during the afternoons, drift westward across the eastern Bay of Campeche during the overnight hours, then dissipate over the southwest gulf by late each morning through the period. .TONIGHT...N to NE winds 15 to 20 kt.
