Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from Apalachee Bay to to 24N90W to 25N86W where it becomes stationary to inland near Tampico. The cold front will quickly reach the far SE waters early on Wednesday, and move E of the area during Wednesday afternoon. High pressure building in behind the front will usher in fresh to strong northerly winds over the area from early on Tuesday through Wednesday morning. These Winds will diminish through Thursday afternoon as the high pressure shifts to the NE Gulf. The high pressure will weaken on Friday as another cold front moves across eastern Texas, and into the NW Gulf on Friday night. The front will then reach from the NE Gulf to near 25N90W and the eastern Bay of Campeche by late on Saturday followed by strong high pressure to once again bring another round of strong northerly flow across much of the basin, with northerly winds expected to reach gale force in the far SW Gulf portion. .OVERNIGHT...NE winds 10 to 15 kt Straits of Florida, and N 5 to 10 kt elsewhere. The cold front will move off the SE United States coast late tonight into early Tuesday morning, reach from 31N76W to the NW Bahamas to NW Cuba early on Wednesday, then begin to weaken as it reaches from near 31N72W to the central Bahamas and to central Cuba early on Thursday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected ahead of the front. The cold front will slow down and extend from near 31N66W to near 26N72W and dissipating stationary to central Cuba Friday.
