A cold front has now stalled this afternoon from the Florida Straits to the NW tip of the Yucatan Peninsula. To the west, a 1013 mb surface low pressure center is near 21N93W, with a trough extending N from it to 26N93W. To the SW of this low, gales will develop offshore Veracruz, Mexico tonight. This low will move quickly NE and out of the NE Gulf late tonight, dragging a reinforcing cold front through the eastern Gulf. This cold front will exit the SE Gulf by Mon afternoon. Winds and seas will diminish Tue and Tue night as high pressure builds over the northern Gulf. Looking ahead, southerly return flow will increase over the NW Gulf by Thu ahead of the next cold front. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Fresh trade winds may pulse to locally strong off Colombia tonight, then diminish as high pressure north of the area weakens and shifts east ahead of an approaching cold front. The front will reach the Yucatan Channel Mon, extend from eastern Cuba to Honduras Tue, and stall from Hispaniola to Nicaragua into late week. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front from E of Bermuda through the Central Bahamas to the Florida Straits is gradually stalling this afternoon. This front will weaken overnight and begin to lift northward, ahead of a second cold front that will move off the SE U.S. coast Mon. By Tue, this cold front will stretch from Bermuda through the SE Bahamas and into eastern Cuba.
