A strong high pressure in the SE Unites States continues to build across the area and in its wake fresh to strong NE winds prevail over the Gulf. The pressure difference between the strong high and low pressure southeast of the Gulf associated to Hurricane Eta over Central America will maintain fresh to near gale force northeast winds over the SE Gulf and the Bay of Campeche and the Straits of Florida. Winds will remain moderate to fresh over the eastern Gulf waters through the end of the week and into the weekend. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Hurricane Eta near 13.8N 84.0W 970 mb at 10 PM EST moving W at 5 kt. Maximum sustained winds 90 kt gusts 110 kt. Eta will move inland and weaken to a tropical storm near 13.9N 84.8W Wed morning, inland to 14.4N 86.4W Wed evening, weaken to a remnant low near 15.3N 88.1W Thu morning, 16.0N 89.2W Thu evening, 16.9N 88.4W Fri morning, and may re-strengthen to a tropical storm near 17.9N 86.7W Fri evening.
