Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO...

A strong cold front extending from the Straits of Florida 
to the Yucatan Peninsula will be near the northwest coast 
of Cuba tonight before it stalls. Fresh to near gale force 
northerly winds are expected across the region tonight through 
Wed night. Strong to near gale force winds are expected to 
continue over the southeastern Gulf waters Wed and Thu due to the
combination between strong high pressure building south over the
Gulf and Hurricane Eta in the western Caribbean. Frequent east 
to southeast gusts to gale force are expected in the Straits of 
Florida through Wed night and remain moderate to fresh into Fri. 

...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN
55W AND 64W...

Hurricane Eta is near 14.6N 82.3W 948 mb at 4 PM EST moving WSW 
at 6 kt. Maximum sustained winds 115 kt gusts 140 kt. Eta will 
move to 14.2N 83.1W Tue morning, 14.0N 83.7W Tue afternoon, move 
inland and weaken to a tropical storm near 14.0N 84.5W Wed 
morning, move inland and weaken to a tropical depression near 
14.2N 85.5W Wed afternoon, become a remnant low and move to 
14.7N 86.9W Thu morning, and 15.5N 88.3W Thu afternoon. 
Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will continue 
well in advance of ETA. Moderate to fresh easterly trades will 
prevail through Fri. 

...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

A strong cold front extending from the western Atlantic along 
the Straits of Florida to the Yucatan Peninsula will provide 
fresh to strong north to northeast winds across the Gulf through 
Tue, then stall from near 27N65W to the central Bahamas Tue 
night before gradually dissipating Wed night. Northeast winds 
with frequent gusts to gale force are expected west of 78W today 
and tonight. Strong to near gale force north to northwest winds 
and building seas are expected behind the front and affect both 
the Bahamas and the Straits of Florida through Thu as strong 
high pressure builds across the region in the wake of the front.
