Zeta will strengthen to a hurricane near 24.5N 91.3W late tonight with maximum sustained winds 70 kt gusts to 85 kt, then begin to accelerate in a north to north-northeast motion reaching near 27.9N 91.0W Wed afternoon and move inland to near 32.4N 87.8W late Wed night. Numerous squalls and thunderstorms, with strong gusty winds, will continue to move across the Yucatan Channel from the northwestern Caribbean Sea through Wed night. A stationary front just offshore the Texas coast will be replaced by a cold front that will move into the NW Gulf Wed and stretch from Florida to the Yucatan Peninsula by late Thu. A cold front will move into the NW waters Fri, with some strong southwest winds ahead of it. The front will reach from near 29N65W to the central Bahamas and to western Cuba by Sat evening and become stationary through Sun night. Fresh to strong northeast to east winds will follow this front, mainly north of about 29N, through the weekend. Another cold front will move into the northwest waters on Sun and Sun night.
