Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO...

Weak high pressure will dominate Gulf weather this week, leading
to light winds and slight seas. Looking ahead, fresh to strong 
winds are possible this weekend over the south central Gulf ahead
of potential low pressure approaching the region from the 
northwest Caribbean. 

...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN
55W AND 64W...
 A strong and fast moving tropical wave crossing the Windward 
Islands tonight will move over the eastern and central Caribbean 
Sea through Wed, and it has a low chance of tropical development 
in the next 48 hours. This wave will slow down in the western 
Caribbean late this week and upper-level winds could become more 
conducive for development. There is a high chance of tropical 
formation within 5 days. Locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds 
are expected over the Windward and southern Leeward Islands 
this morning. Looking ahead, low pressure system may approach 
the Atlantic waters off the Leeward Islands by Fri and Sat. 

...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

High pressure centered over the central Atlantic will dominate
weather this week, bringing gentle to moderate mainly southerly
winds to the area. Low pressure in the central tropical Atlantic
is likely to become a tropical depression in the next day or two
as it moves W to WNW. This system high a high chance of tropical
formation and is forecast to approach the Leeward Islands Fri and
Sat.
