Moderate northerly winds will continue across the NE Gulf this morning as Isaias continues moving northward near the east coast of Florida. A weak high pressure ridge will persist over the northern Gulf this week, maintaining gentle flow across much of the region with moderate winds expected in the SW Gulf. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A surface trough moving across the Atlantic waters along 63W will increase winds and seas slightly over the Tropical N Atlantic waters N of 15N and E of 66W today. Fresh trade winds over the central Caribbean waters are expected to strengthen by midweek following the passage of a tropical wave. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Tropical Storm Isaias is offshore of NE Florida near 29.6N 79.9W 994 mb at 5 AM EDT, moving N at 8 kt. Maximum sustained winds 60 kt gusts 75 kt. Isaias will continue northward and near the east coast of Florida today and reach near 31.3N 79.6W at hurricane intensity this afternoon, then accelerate N-NE away from the forecast waters. Large seas associated with Isaias will spread northward across the waters W of 75W today, then gradually subside late tonight through Tue night. A low pressure trough associated with a tropical wave along 63W will move across the SE waters today.
