Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO...

Hurricane Hanna near 27.1N 96.3W 978 mb at 11 AM EDT moving W at
6 kt. Maximum sustained winds 70 kt gusts 85 kt. Hanna will move
inland to 26.9N 97.6W this evening, weaken to a tropical storm
near 26.4N 99.1W Sun morning, weaken to a tropical depression
near 25.9N 100.6W Sun evening, and become a remnant low and move
to 25.3N 102.1W Mon morning, then dissipate Mon evening. The
pressure gradient between Hanna and a ridge across the remainder
of the Gulf waters will support fresh to strong SE winds over
the western Gulf through Mon. 

...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN
55W AND 64W...

Tropical Storm Gonzalo near 10.5N 60.5W 1009 mb at 11 AM EDT
moving W at 16 kt. Maximum sustained winds 35 kt gusts 45 kt.
Gonzalo will weaken to a tropical depression near 11.0N 63.5W
this evening, move to 11.7N 67.3W Sun morning, and dissipate Sun
evening. A strong tropical wave will approach the Lesser
Antilles on Wed.  

...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

A ridge will dominate the forecast area, supporting  fresh to
occasionally strong winds near Hispaniola and the  Windward
Passage at night through Sun. The pressure gradient between the
Atlantic ridge and T.S. Gonzalo currently affecting the Windward
Islands will support fresh to locally strong easterly winds E of
65W through tonight.
