Low pressure, the remnant of TS Amanda, is centered over the southern Yucatan peninsula. The low is expected to slowly drift into the southwest Gulf through mid week, possibly redeveloping into a tropical cyclone. Strong to near gale force winds and high seas are expected in the Bay of Campeche through mid week. Looking ahead, the low pressure over the southwest Gulf will be absorbed into a broader low emerging out of southern Mexico by Fri and lift in a generally north to northwest direction through Sat. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A broad area of low pressure, known as the Central American Gyre, will persist over northern Central America and southern Mexico during the entire week leading to scattered showers and thunderstorms over the NW Caribbean. Winds and seas will increase in the Gulf of Honduras and off Yucatan through Sat as a result. The Bermuda High will rebuild to north of the basin on Tue, which will lead to the development of fresh winds in the south-central Caribbean Tue through Sat. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front extending from near 30N65W southwestward to 28N72W and to near 27N80W will stall along 25N by Tue afternoon and dissipate by Wed.
