A trough extends from near Apalachicola, Florida to 26N90W and inland northeastern Mexico, while a cold front extends from southern Louisiana to inland southern Texas early this afternoon. The trough will weaken as it moves southeastward reaching the southern Gulf waters tonight. The cold front will reach from the far western Florida panhandle to 27N92W and to near 26N95W by early this evening, then reach from near Tampa, Florida to 26N85W and stationary to the south-central Bay of Campeche early Sun. This front will move SE and into the NW Caribbean on Mon as a high pressure ridge passes eastward across the Gulf early next week. Another cold front will move into the northern Gulf Wed afternoon, reach from the Florida Big Bend to near 25N90W and to near northeastern Mexico early Thu. The western part of the front will become stationary and weaken through late Thu night, while the rest of the front will weaken as it exits the SE Gulf Fri. Weak high pressure will build across the area in the wake of this front. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... High pressure extending from the central Atlantic to the NW Bahamas will maintain fresh to strong trade winds over the south-central Caribbean through Tue before weakening. Strong east to southeast winds will pulse at night over the Gulf of Honduras this weekend. Northerly swell will propagate through the Tropical N Atlantic waters this weekend. Smoke from agricultural fires in Central America could reduce visibility over the Gulf of Honduras for the next several days. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A stationary front north of the area near 33N lift northward as a warm front this afternoon. A trough extends from near 29N75W to the NW Bahamas. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are along and east of this trough to near 69W. Some of this activity may produce strong gusty winds and locally higher seas through this evening. A cold front will move off the southeastern U.S. coast and over the NW forecast waters late tonight into Sun early Sun. It will move across the offshore waters N of 22N Sun through Tue night. The front is expected to stall across the central Bahamas Wed as high pressure slides eastward roughly along 31N. Yet another cold front will move off the southeastern U.S. coast and to the NW forecast waters Wed night into Thu preceded by fresh to strong southerly winds along with scattered showers and thunderstorms.
