High pressure extending from the western Atlantic across the region will maintain mainly gentle to moderate east to southeast winds across the Gulf through the period. Southeast winds increase to fresh speeds over the NW Gulf Wed night. Fresh to strong northeast to east winds will develop along and near the northern Yucatan Peninsula in the afternoon and through the overnight hours associated with the Yucatan Peninsula trough. This trough will weaken as it moves offshore the Yucatan Peninsula in the late night hours and into the eastern Bay of Campeche during the mornings. Patchy dense fog is expected in some locations of the NW and N-central Gulf during the at night and in the mornings through Mon. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... The gradient from high pressure north of the area will support fresh to strong northeast winds near the coast of Colombia the next several days. Winds across the central Caribbean will increase tonight, then remain fresh to occasionally strong through Thu night. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A high pressure ridge extending roughly along 30N from the central Atlantic to northern Florida will weaken tonight as a cold front sags southward over the northern waters Sun and Sun night and central waters east of the Bahamas Mon through Tue night while weakening. Increasing winds and building seas are expected over these waters. The pressure gradient between high pressure in the wake of the front and a weak trough currently near 60W, that is expected to move west and southwest toward the northeastern Caribbean, will tigthen increasing the winds over the eastern forecast waters beginning late Sun and through most of Wed. Weak low pressure is along the trough near 24N59W. Seas will build some with these winds.
