A high pressure shifts east out of the Gulf, fresh to locally strong southerly flow will develop over the far western Gulf by tonight. A weak cold front will move into the NW Gulf Mon night into Tue morning, with a stronger reinforcing front likely Tue night into Wed morning. This front will move SE of the basin by Wed night. Gale force northwest to north winds will follow in behind the front over the west-central and SW Gulf waters on Wed and Wed night, with fresh to strong winds elsewhere behind the front. Conditions will then improve for the end of the week, as high pressure builds into the Gulf. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Strong northeast to east wind will pulse each night through Thu night off the coast of Colombia. Large northerly swell will produce seas of 8 to 10 feet through the Mona Passage tonight through Mon night. A cold front that extends early this morning from Hispaniola to southern Nicaragua will become nearly stationary by tonight, from the Mona Passage to the Nicaragua/Costa Rica border. This front will then gradually dissipate through the middle of the week. Behind this front, fresh to locally strong winds are expected in the lees of Cuba and the Dominican Republic and in and downwind of the Mona Passage into Tue. Another cold front will move into the NW Caribbean Wed night, then stretch from E Cuba, across Jamaica, and into eastern Honduras by Thu night. Fresh to strong N winds will follow this front from the Yucatan Channel to the Gulf of Honduras. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front that will extends early this morning from near 23N65W through the Turks and Caicos Islands and into Hispaniola will stretch from 19N65N to the Mona Passage by this evening. The front will slow down and stall over the Virgin Islands Mon, then gradually dissipate into the middle of the week. Low pressure is expected to form today near 29N60W, and the tightening pressure gradient between this low and high pressure off the mid-Atlantic coast may bring strong N winds to the far NE waters today and tonight. Long period N swell west of the cold front will gradually decay through Tue as it propagates SE. S winds in advance of the next force will increase to strong Mon night through Tue night in advance of the next cold front. This cold front will enter the NW waters Wed morning, then stretch from Bermuda into the SE Bahamas by late Thu. Fresh to strong NW winds and building seas will follow this front Wed and Thu. $$ .WARNINGS...Any changes impacting coastal NWS offices will be coordinated through AWIPS II Collaboration Chat, or by telephone: .GULF OF MEXICO... .GMZ017...W CENTRAL GULF FROM 22N TO 26N W OF 94W...
