As the pressure gradient from low pressure over northern Colombia and high pressure center NE of the Caribbean weakens, gales will come to an end this morning off the coast of Colombia. Thereafter, generally fresh to occasionally strong E winds will prevail over the central and eastern Caribbean into late week. Long-period N swell will continue to create very large seas and hazardous marine conditions across the Tropical North Atlantic and along Atlantic facing parts of the Lesser Antilles and Puerto Rico today, before gradually diminishing into mid-week. A cold front will enter the NW Caribbean this afternoon and reach a line from eastern Cuba to the N Coast of Honduras by Tue evening. Behind this front, strong N winds and higher seas are expected. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Large seas to the east of the Turks and Caicos Islands will gradually subside today from W to E. A cold front from W of Bermuda to Melbourne, Florida early this morning will reach the NW Bahamas this afternoon, then move through the Bahamas and into eastern Cuba by Tue evening. Low pressure is forecast to develop along this front to the east of the Bahamas Tue into Wed. The pressure gradient between this low and high pressure building into the SE U.S. will be quite tight, causing gale force northerly winds to develop by Tue evening N of the Bahamas. Strong to near gale force N winds are also possible along the east coast of Florida and the NW Bahamas. These winds and potential gales could persist into Thu, until the low moves NE of the area late week. $$ .WARNINGS...Any changes impacting coastal NWS offices will be coordinated through AWIPS II Collaboration Chat, or by telephone: .GULF OF MEXICO... .GMZ023...SW GULF S OF 22N W OF 94W...
