A cold front extends from south-central Louisiana to just south of Brownsville, Texas. Latest and current buoy and Ascat observations show northeast winds of 20-30 kt behind the front and wave heights of up to 8 ft. Scattered showers are near the front. The cold front will reach from the western Florida panhandle to near 28N91W and become stationary from there to Brownsville by late this afternoon. The eastern part of the front will sweep southeastward across the eastern Gulf through Thu night reaching the Straits of Florida. The western part of the front will lift back to the N and inland Texas as a warm front Thu through Fri. Another cold front will move into the NW Gulf Sat night, reach from the western Florida panhandle to far southern Texas early on Sun, from near west-central Florida to far northeastern Mexico Sun night, then from the southwest Florida coast to the south-central Gulf and to the SW Gulf early on Mon. The eastern section of the cold front will continue southeastward from the lower Straits of Florida and near the northwest coast of Cuba to along the northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula Mon night. The section of the front over the SW Gulf will become stationary at or near that time. Mainly fresh northerly winds are expected behind this front, except for fresh to strong winds over the NE Gulf Sun night into Mon before diminishing to fresh speeds Mon afternoon. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Strong to minimal gale force winds are again expected across the S central Caribbean and to near the coast of Colombia late tonight into early Thu along with peak wave heights of about 14 ft. Fresh to strong winds are expected elsewhere across the central Caribbean through Thu with these winds spreading westward across the W central Caribbean. Fresh to strong northeast winds will pulse downwind of the Windward Passage, in the Lee of Cuba and the Lee of the Dominican Republic during the next several days. A tropical wave with axis near 85W S of 20N is moving westward at about 15 kt. This wave is sustaining scattered showers and thunderstorms from inland northeastern Honduras northward to 20N and west of 84W, including the northern and eastern Gulf of Honduras. This wave will move inland Belize and the Yucatan Peninsula early on Thu. The scattered shower and thunderstorm activity is expected to gradually translate westward with the wave for the most part, however, some of it will probably linger over these same waters Thu and Thu evening. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... High pressure over the area will shift eastward and weaken through early Thu in response to an approaching cold front. This cold front will quickly move across the area Thu and Thu night followed by fresh to strong west to northwest winds across the NE forecast waters, and by moderate to fresh north to northeast winds elsewhere as a new area of high pressure builds over the region. Large northerly swell is forecast to propagate across the waters E of the Bahamas Fri through Sat night. A rather strong cold front will approach the far northwest waters early Sun night, then move across those same water by late Sun night. The cold front is expected to reach from near 31N74W to the vicinity of the Florida Keys by early on Mon afternoon and from near 31N72W to the Straits of Florida Mon night. Model guidance suggests that strong to possibly minimal gale force winds and building wave heights are expected on either side of the front N and NE of the Bahamas early next week. $$ .WARNINGS...Any changes impacting coastal NWS offices will be coordinated through AWIPS II Collaboration Chat, or by telephone: .GULF OF MEXICO...
