A cold front over the NW Gulf will reach from Alabama to 25N95W to the Bay of Campeche later today, then stall by this evening. The front will then weaken and drift northward through Sun and quickly dissipate over water. Scatterometer data shows strong to gale force northerly winds NW of the front off the NE coast of Mexico. Model guidance also indicates a brief period of minimal gales this afternoon near the coast of Veracruz. Winds will then diminish across the entire area Sun as high pressure north of the area slides eastward. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A broad area of low pressure centered east of Nicaragua will continue to produce scattered showers and isolated tstms over the western Caribbean this weekend. The broad low is forecast to move W-NW into Central America through early next week.
