Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO...

High pressure across the SW N Atlantic extends a ridge into the 
northern Gulf. Moderate easterly winds will persist south of the
ridge through Mon. A broad area of low pressure across Central 
America in combination with a diurnal trough moving off the coast
of Yucatan each night will enhance easterly winds in the SW Gulf
this weekend. Very active weather associated with the low 
pressure area is expected to shift from southeastern Mexico and 
the Yucatan into the southwest Gulf this weekend. A trough is 
likely to develop there, and a low pressure area may form along 
the trough axis.

...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN
55W AND 64W...

A ridge north of the region along 28N-29N will maintain moderate
to fresh trades across the Caribbean through the weekend. A broad 
area of low pressure persisting over Central America and the Gulf
of Honduras will provide favorable conditions for scattered to 
numerous showers and thunderstorms across the western Caribbean 
and Yucatan Channel during the next few days. 

...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

A ridge continues along 28N-29N, and will remain in place the 
next several days. Fairly tranquil marine conditions are expected
over much of the forecast area. A mid-level trough will support 
unsettled weather over the the far SE part of the area through 
this evening.
