Fresh to strong southerly winds over the western Gulf will prevail through this evening ahead of a cold front that will move off the coast of Texas later this morning. The front is expected to lift back during the evening hours. Fresh to strong SE winds will resume over the western basin on Fri night ahead of another front expected to move off the Texas coast late Sat. Fresh to strong northerly winds and building seas will follow the front early on Sun, reaching near gale force off Veracruz Sun afternoon. Winds and seas will diminish across the Gulf Mon morning as the front weakens from the Florida Keys to the northeast Yucatan Peninsula. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A trough extending from central Cuba to a low pres near 18N83W to NE Honduras adjacent waters will continue to weaken and dissipate Thu evening. A weak ridge to the north will promote only moderate to fresh tradewinds across the Caribbean into Fri. The ridge will strengthen afterwards, thus resulting in fresh to near gale force winds along the coast of Colombia through Mon night. The overall increase in pressure gradient will also result in fresh to strong winds in the Gulf of Honduras through Sun evening, increasing to near gale force at night. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front extending from 31N67W to near 29N69W to 29N75W will extend from 31N63W to 24N69W this evening. A ridge building N of the area will tighten the pressure gradient NW of the front, thus resulting in fresh to strong winds and building seas over the north-central and NE waters by Thu night, continuing through Fri as the front moves E of the area. A surface trough, remnants of the front will drift WNW Fri evening through Sat morning supporting the continuation of fresh to strong winds over the NE waters.
