A stationary front extends from SW Florida near 26N82W to beyond the Yucatan Channel. This front will drift southward and dissipate over the next day. In response to a strong extratropical cyclone over the U.S. Southern Great Plains, southerly return flow will be enhanced in the western Gulf through Thu. A ridge of high pressure north of the Gulf will subsequently promote quiescent conditions through Sat morning. Late Sat, southeasterly return flow will be enhanced ahead of the next cold front, which should emerge off of the Texas coast on Sun. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A stationary front extends from western Cuba to the western Gulf of Honduras. A surface trough extends from central Cuba to eastern Honduras, associated with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The front will drift eastward today before dissipating tonight. A weak ridge to the north will promote only moderate to fresh breeze tradewinds across the Caribbean through Fri. As the ridge strengthens and increases the pressure gradient, winds - especially north of Colombia and north of Honduras - will be enhanced on Sat and Sun. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A weak stationary front extends from an extratropical low at 31N78W to the NE Florida coast at 29N81W. Ahead of the front, a surface trough extends from 29N77W to NW Bahamas and is associated with scattered showers and thunderstorms. While this front should dissipate by Thu, a new cold front will be reaching the area tonight, pushing eastward and extending from 28N65W to 27N75W on Fri morning.
