A ridge prevails across the Gulf waters this morning producing a gentle to moderate wind flow. As the ridge shifts eastward, expect a moderate to locally fresh SE return flow to develop west of 92W this afternoon and evening. A cold front will sink southward across the northern Gulf waters Tue and reach the Yucatan Channel on Wed. Mainly moderate to fresh N to NE winds are expected in the wake of the front. Winds are forecast to increase to a fresh to strong breeze over the NE Gulf late Wed into Wed night as a strong high pressure settles over the Mid Atlantic states. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A weakening frontal boundary extending from eastern Cuba to Costa Rica will dissipate later today. The remnants of the front will drift westward across the NW Caribbean as a trough this weekend. Fresh to strong NE winds are expected near the coast of Colombia through Wed. N to NE Atlantic swell will move through the Caribbean passages E of Hispaniola through late Sun. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front extends from 31N60W to 26N65W where it becomes stationary, then continues SW to across the Turks and Caicos Islands and eastern Cuba. The front will remain nearly stationary through Sun while dissipating. Swell generated by the front will dominate the waters E of the Bahamas this weekend. A new cold front is forecast to reach the north waters late on Tue and sink southward across the NW half of the area through late Wed.
