Fresh to strong SW to S return flow will shift eastward across the N Gulf today ahead a strong cold front moving across the NW Gulf. NW gales will follow the front across the W and NW Gulf through tonight. A squall line will precede the front as it crosses the Gulf. A 1520 ASCAT pass showed gales blasting off the coast behind front from central TX waters to 22N, and have updated short term to start gale warning immediately. The front will extend from 30N85W to 25N88W to 19N92W tonight, then exit from the Gulf Sun morning. Strong winds will taper off across the basin by sunrise on Mon. High pressure ridging over the Gulf from the N will shift E and allow strong SE to S return flow to develop over the western Gulf by Tue morning. The strong return flow will expand to the eastern Gulf Tue night. Another strong cold front could enter the NW Gulf Wed. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Fresh to strong trade winds will continue in the S central Caribbean Sea through Wednesday night and increase to at or near gale force along the immediate coast of Colombia each night through Wed. Moderate to locally fresh trade winds will prevail elsewhere. A strong cold front will enter the NW Caribbean Sun morning, move SE and extend from Haiti to NE Nicaragua Mon night, then stall and weaken on Tue.
