Weak high pressure over the SW Gulf supports light to moderate anticyclonic winds W of 87W, with diminishing moderate to fresh W to NW winds E of 87W. Large swell of 8 to 14 ft lingers E of 90W generated by a gale force wind event which has ended. These seas will gradually subside through today. The high over the SW Gulf will shift NE across the central waters through today, and move across the Florida Panhandle on Sun. A weak cold front may drop into the northern Gulf waters by Sun afternoon, stalling and washing out there through early Mon afternoon. Fresh return flow will set up across the NW waters on Tue with these conditions spreading E across the entire gulf waters on Wed. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Strong to near gale force trades will continue across the south-central Caribbean through Wed night, increasing to minimal gale force along the NW coast of Colombia during the overnight hours beginning at 00z Sun. A cold front from eastern Cuba to western Jamaica has stalled from there to central Costa Rica. The front will completely stall and gradually dissipate through Sun. Fresh to locally strong northerly winds will prevail W of the front, except near gale force along the coast of Nicaragua through the remainder of the overnight hours.
