A cold front stretches from Tampa Bay to the coast of Mexico near Tampico. Scattered showers along the frontal boundary are mainly E of 90W. The front will move SE across the Gulf today, reaching from SW Florida to the Bay of Campeche. Strong high pres behind the front will induce fresh to strong northerly winds for much of the western and central Gulf today. Winds are forecast to reach minimal gale force near Veracruz overnight. The front will extend from southern Florida to 23N90W tonight, then move SE of the area by late Wed. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Fresh to strong trades continue in the south-central Caribbean, with strongest winds near the coast of Colombia. Altimeter data indicated seas of 8-10 ft within this area of winds. Fresh to strong SE winds are also noted in the Gulf of Honduras. A cold front passing N of the area will cause winds to diminish over the central Caribbean Wed. Then, strong high pressure following the front will allow fresh to strong winds to redevelop across the south-central Caribbean Thu through Fri night.
