000 AGXX40 KNHC 030805 CCA MIMATS Marine Weather Discussion...CORRECTED NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 305 AM EST Mon Dec 3 2018 Corrected omission in second paragraph Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas ...GULF OF MEXICO... A quasi stationary front extends from near Panama City Florida to just S of Brownsville Texas. A cold front is just entering the NW Gulf and stretches from near Morgan City Louisiana to Corpus Christi Texas. The cold front will merge with the quasistationary front by tonight and cause it to head SE as a merged cold frontal boundary. The merged front will then extend from central Florida to the southern Bay of Campeche near 18N94W Tue night and from the Florida Straits to near 18N94W Wed morning. Strong high pressure building S behind the merged front will bring strong northerly winds to much of the western and central Gulf beginning early on Tue. Winds could reach gale force near Veracruz Tue night. Winds over the Gulf will veer from the E and SE and slacken to between moderate and fresh by Fri as high pres centered over Texas shifts E to the SE United States. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... High pressure centered just E of Bermuda will shift to the central Atlc by Tue and support fresh to strong trade winds over the south-central Caribbean and the Gulf of Honduras. Winds along the coast of Colombia will reach near gale force today. A front passing to the north of the area Tue will cause winds to diminish over the central basin. Strong high pressure building in the wake of the front will tighten the gradient again and generate fresh to strong winds along the coast of Colombia Tue night. Areal coverage of winds along the coast of Colombia will shrink to right along the immediate coast Wed and Thu as high pres over the W Atlc weakens in response to a cold front moving SE from the United States mainland. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... High pressure ridging from the E will reside over the area through Wed. Fresh to strong S to SW winds will affect the waters N of 27N and W of 65W through tonight as a cold front approaches the Georgia coast. The front will push SE and reach from 31N73W to near Jupiter, Florida early Tue. By Wed morning the front will extend from near 31N64W to 25N74W, then to the central Bahamas and finally to west-central Cuba. Strong winds ahead of the front will affect the waters N of 28N through Tue night. A second push of cold air will support fresh to locally strong winds across the northern waters Wed night through Thu. Long period NW swell will continue to decay and allow seas E of the Windward Islands to subside below 8 ft by Thu morning. $$ .WARNINGS...Any changes impacting coastal NWS offices will be coordinated through AWIPS II Collaboration Chat, or by telephone: .GULF OF MEXICO... .GMZ023...SW GULF S OF 22N W OF 94W...
