A cold front extending SW from the Florida Straits to the Yucatan Peninsula will continue to move SE, shifting southeastward and out of the Gulf waters this afternoon. High pres will build in the wake of the front and maintain fresh to strong northerly winds across south and east portions of the basin through Wed morning. Return flow will develop across the NW Gulf Wed and gradually spread across entire Gulf by Fri. Numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms will be possible Thu and Fri over the western Gulf as the return flow interacts with an upper level disturbance. A weak pres gradient across the basin is producing moderate to fresh winds across much of the area, with fresh to locally strong nocturnal trades along the N coast of Colombia through the remainder of the week. A cold front will move into the Yucatan Basin late this morning, and stall from Windward Passage to Belize Wed, weakening through Thu, with remnants of the front lifting N across the NW Caribbean on Thu night and Fri. Moderate to fresh trades and seas to 8 ft currently across the tropical Atlc waters E of the Windwards will subside slightly through Wed night before winds become fresh to strong Thu through Sat. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...
