A cold front extending SW from the Florida Big Bend to the Bay of Campeche will move SE of the gulf waters this evening accompanied by scattered tstms. Gale force northwesterly winds will persist across the far SW waters along the coast of Mexico till about midnight tonight. Winds are then forecast to gradually diminish to a fresh N breeze across the E and S- central gulf on Tue night, with a ridge setting up from the Florida Panhandle to central Mexico by late Wed. A cold front will move into the Yucatan Basin late tonight and continue E on Tue stalling roughly from the Windward Passage to Belize early Wed, with remnants of the front lifting N across the NW Caribbean on Thu night through Fri night. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A 1018 mb surface high is analyzed at 27N68W with a ridge extending W-SW to the Straits of Florida. The surface high will shift E of 55W by late Tue with the ridge retracting E to central Cuba. A cold front currently along the NE Florida coast is preceded by fresh to locally strong SW flow N of 27N and forecast to expand out about 600 nm E of the front over the next day or so with minimal gale conditions forecast N of 29.5N between 65W and 55W on Wed.
