A surface low over the Florida Panhandle will continue moving E and pass across northern Florida overnight while dragging a weak cold E across the northeastern gulf waters accompanied by a moderate wind shift. Fresh southerly flow will set up across the northwest gulf overnight ahead of a cold front moving SE off the Texas coast on Sun afternoon. The front will reach from the Florida Panhandle to the Bay of Campeche early Mon, then move S of the area on Tue night, except for a portion of the front that will stall across the far SW gulf waters on Wed. These frontal remnants will lift back N on Thu and Fri. Strong to near gale force northerly winds will spread S behind the cold front on Sun, increasing briefly to minimal gale force near 23N97W late Sun night into early Mon morning, and across the far SW waters near Veracruz early Mon through Mon evening. Associated winds are forecast to diminish to a fresh N breeze across the E gulf on Tue night as a ridge sets up from the Mississippi Delta to central Mexico. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Fresh to locally strong trades are forecast across the tropical waters E of the Windwards overnight into Sun morning, with 6 to 8 ft seas then forecast across the tropical waters E of the Lesser Antilles through Tue. Locally strong nocturnal trades, with seas to 8 ft, are forecast to resume along the NW coast of Colombia overnight and continue through the remainder of the week. Otherwise moderate trades are expected N of 17N, while fresh trades are forecast S of 17N through the period. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A stationary front extends E to W across the northern waters with a 1012 mb surface low analyzed near 27N71W. The front will transition to a warm front overnight, and race NE along with the surface through early Sun, with a cold front sweeping SE around the surface low and across the N-central and NE portion on Sun. A large area of near gale force winds currently observed across the waters N of the low and stationary front will shift NE of the area on Sun night. A surface high over S Florida will shift SE across the central Bahamas overnight and reach near 26N68W early Mon with a ridge extending W to the Straits of Florida. Fresh to locally strong SW flow will set up along the NE Florida coast late Sun night ahead of another cold front moving off the SE United States coast on Mon evening.
