A stationary front extends from southern Louisiana to northeast Mexico. A weak upper-level disturbance moving across the northern Gulf will maintain scattered shower and thunderstorm activity over much of the north-central Gulf today. A cold front across central Florida will drift southward today then become stationary across the Gulf along 26N on Wed, with a stationary front also extending south of 26N along 96W. Low pressure is expected to develop offshore the Texas coast on Thu then track eastward across the northern Gulf through Sat accompanied by fresh to strong winds. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... High pressure north of the region will continue to support fresh to strong winds along the coast of Colombia this morning. Trade winds are expected to diminish slightly today as a front passes, then return again tonight and continue through Wed night as a ridge builds north of the area. Large long period NE swell over the Atlantic will continue to impact the waters east of the Lesser Antilles through Wed afternoon. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A weak low pressure area is centered near 28N72W along a trough across the forecast area from 30N70W to central Cuba. The low will meander over the region and then merge with a cold front that extends from 31N77W to central Florida this evening. A stronger cold front will move southward over the waters north and northeast of the Bahamas Thu through Fri night then become stationary on Sat.
