A stationary front extending from near Marco Island Florida across the central Gulf to 1012 mb low pres near 24.5N96.5W continues S to Mexico near 18N94W. The front will weaken and lift N through tonight. A stronger cold front will move into the NW Gulf late Mon afternoon into the evening. Winds will increase to storm force in the SW Gulf behind the front Tue, with gale force winds elsewhere behind the front W of 87W. The front will extend from the Florida panhandle to Veracruz Mexico early Tue, near Apalachee Bay Florida to the northern Yucatan peninsula early Wed, moving SE of the Gulf early Thu. Winds and seas will gradually by the end of the week as the front exits the basin. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Increasing thunderstorm activity, strong gusty winds and building seas will accompany a tropical wave as it moves into the waters E of the Leeward Islands today. Low pres may develop along the northern portion of the tropical wave. Fresh trade winds and E swell will follow the tropical wave into the tropical N Atlantic waters. Elsewhere, high pres N of the area will support fresh to strong pulses across the Windward Passage, over adjacent waters of the SW Dominican Republic and along the coast of Colombia through Tue. A strong cold front will bring fresh to strong N winds and seas to 12 ft into the Yucatan Channel and the NW Caribbean Wed night through Thu night. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A cold front extends from 31N70W to the northern Bahamas and continues as stationary to near Pompano Beach Florida. The front will completely stall by tonight, then will drift N of the area through early Tue. Another cold front will enter the NW portion late Wed night, reaching from near 31N72W to the central Bahamas and central Cuba late Thu night. A tropical wave will approach from the SE through the early part of the week with increasing thunderstorm activity, strong gusty winds and building seas.
