A 1009 mb low pressure system just inland along the Texas/Louisiana border will move E-NE across the Gulf coast states through Fri, dragging a cold front across much of the Gulf basin. The front will be nearly stationary from central Cuba to the SW Gulf by Sat night. Another cold front will cross the northern gulf beginning Sun night. Fresh to strong SE winds will continue over the NW Gulf into this evening north of a developing warm front. These winds will diminish as the front lifts north over land tonight. Brief strong winds can be expected over the west central Gulf Fri night and Sat, with mainly moderate to fresh NW winds elsewhere over the Gulf basin behind the cold front. Another cold front is expected to sweep across the eastern two-thirds of the Gulf basin beginning Sun night. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Gentle to moderate trades will prevail across the Caribbean Sea through Sat. A cold front crossing the Gulf of Mexico will become stationary across Yucatan Channel Sat night and Sun. Fresh to locally strong trade winds are expected over the south- central Caribbean early next week.
