A trough will persist over the SW Gulf through late Mon. Fresh to strong NW to N winds are expected W of the trough axis, with seas of 6-8 ft. The next cold front will reach the northern Gulf waters Sat evening, stretching from South Florida to near 25N97W by Sun evening. Then, the front will lift N as a weak low pressure develops along the frontal boundary over the NW Gulf near 26N95W by Mon evening. A cold front will extend from the low center to near Tampico, Mexico. Fresh to strong winds in the 25-30 kt range and building seas of up to 10 or 11 ft are expected in the wake of the front by late Mon. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Recent scatterometer data indicate fresh to strong winds near the coast of Colombia, in the lee of eastern Cuba, and across the Windward Passage, with mainly fresh winds across the remainder of the south-central Caribbean. Fresh winds are also noted in the Gulf of Honduras. These winds are expected to persist today, with seas to 8 ft near the coast of Colombia. Otherwise, moderate to fresh trades will prevail across most of the region through Tue night, with seas generally under 7 ft. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... The western part of a stationary front extends from 27N60W to 26N70W to 25N75W then continues as a dissipating stationary front to 28N80W. This front will dissipate over the forecast waters today.
