Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO...

High pressure will prevail over the forecast area. A surface
trough will develop each evening over the Yucatan peninsula. The
trough will move into the SW Gulf overnight, where it will
dissipate each morning. Moderate to fresh winds will accompany
the trough.  

...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN
55W AND 64W...

A broad surface trough over the western Caribbean is expected to
develop into broad low pressure over this same area by the end
of the week. Large NNE swell generated from Leslie will continue
to move through the Atlantic passages into the Caribbean.  

...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

Tropical Storm Leslie near 29.7N 56.7W 986 mb at 11 PM EDT
Tuesday, moving SW at 3 kt. Leslie will strengthen to hurricane 
intensity overnight, then start to lift northward Wed. Large and 
powerful swell generated by Leslie will affect the forecast 
waters through the end of the week.
