Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO...

Light to gentle winds will generally prevail the next couple of 
days before increasing slightly during the second half of this 
week. Seas of 3 ft or less are expected. A surface trough will 
develop over the Yucatan peninsula each evening, shift W over the
SW gulf each night, then dissipate each morning. Moderate to 
fresh winds will accompany the trough. 

...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN
55W AND 64W...

Tropical Depression Kirk near 9.4N 35.5W 1007 mb at 11 PM EDT
moving W at 22 kt. Maximum sustained winds 30 kt gusts 40 kt.
Kirk will move to 9.8N 39.0W Mon morning, strengthen to a
tropical storm near 10.0N 43.2W Mon evening, 10.3N 47.2W Tue
morning, 10.6N 50.6W Tue evening, and 11.7N 56.2W Wed evening.
Kirk will change little in intensity as it moves to near 13.0N
60.5W late Thu, and weaken to a tropical depression near 14.0N
65.0W on Fri. Long period swell from post-tropical extratropical
storm Leslie will maintain seas E of the Windward Islands at 8 
ft or above after Kirk passes.

...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

Low pres centered near 28N70W 1011 mb will continue weakening 
and drift W across the northern forecast waters through early 
next week. Long period swell from post-tropical extratropical
storm Leslie will cause seas E of 70W to build to 8 ft or above
Thu.
